Art in the County juried show 2017

I am very happy that this painting was accepted at the Art in the County juried show this past week. It depicts The Rosebud that is docked  every year in Picton Harbour and which has probably been photographed umpteen times by locals and tourists. For 12 years I have wanted to paint it but couldn't get excited about doing so in the traditional style.

Art in the County Juried Show

This year I decided to enter this piece in the ART in the COUNTY juried show and it was accepted. But what thrilled me even more , was, that it was sold to a German diplomat who was vacationing in Canada. By now my painting is hanging in someone's home in Germany ! Of course the painting appealed to the buyer because the mailboxes are so typical of rural Ontario which means, I have to do more paintings with mailboxes in the future !

This Year’s Studio Tour

I had a lot of visitors again this year on the Rednersville Road Art Tour on the Labour Day Weekend as you can see in the photos. But, not only did I have a lot of visitors but also a lot of buyers! My guest artist, Brad Phillips also did well with his beautiful pottery. It was nice to see so many familiar faces that have been following my artistic development since the first tour seven years ago.

Rednersville Road Art Tour 2013

The Rednersville Road Art Tour on the Labour Day Weekend proved to be another successful event. On Saturday, Aug.31, I counted 134 visitors and others , along the road, had even more visitors. It was nice to see so many familiar faces again and in general, people were more in a buying mood. Once again The Intel ( Belleville's newspaper ) came through for us and gave us a full page coverage on Tuesday. The tour opened other doors for me which means that I have to
